The audience was convinced that Makareus Picoulas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iker Mincho was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alvarado de Mar del Plata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Salvador Salomon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celedonio Lastur in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Yuquerí AFC's Celedonio Lastur proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Yuquerí AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute of the match, Kang Feng got a very nice opportunity to score, but Celedonio Lastur was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 32 minutes, Zvonimir Boban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuquerí AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zvonimir Boban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Makareus Picoulas in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Mincho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Alvarado de Mar del Plata booed when Yuquerí AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

55 minutes into the match, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Makareus Picoulas came free, but Iker Mincho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 98 played minutes Alvarado de Mar del Plata got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Buckler. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
