Åke Abelsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Salmuera CP booed when Grosso United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulises Gartzen in the 45th minute of play forced Salmuera CP's goalkeeper Cipriano Firmin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that Torcuato Herrero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonas Bladi was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Salmuera CP's zone, Gustavo da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Firmin came out of the goal and Gustavo da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head.
