The FK Partizan Beograd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Teofan Komazec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 played minutes, Dorćol's Veljko Košutić shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jan Laada came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dorćol reached it. In the 20th minute, Aćim Ajdarić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dorćol's Dragan Srnić proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Dorćol from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Åke Bållström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragan Srnić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Svetoje Tankosić hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Jevtimije Basara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of FK Partizan Beograd booed when Dorćol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Želimir Kisić didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Åke Bållström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dragan Srnić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Åke Bållström in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The referee showed Radoljub Čelić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dorćol getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Radoljub Čelić hit a great ball. Dragan Srnić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aćim Ajdarić, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Åke Bållström scored 3-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dragan Srnić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ranko Barišić came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jan Laada could save by the left post. In the 68th minute of the match Srđa Vulić shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dragan Srnić showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the match, FK Partizan Beograd's Åke Bållström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dragan Srnić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The FK Partizan Beograd fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when FK Partizan Beograd's Åke Bållström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FK Partizan Beograd had won after a very even match.
