The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, F.C. Cristelo's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Rijo came free, but Gusmão Coimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, FZZ Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Rijo to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute Sílvio Azenha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Rijo in the 20th minute of play forced F.C. Cristelo's goalkeeper Gusmão Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Octávio Valadão managed to get in a good position for a shot. FZZ Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Octávio Valadão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gusmão Coimbra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gusmão Coimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Rijo in the 28th minute of the match. Gusmão Coimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octávio Valadão in the 30th minute of play. F.C. Cristelo's Gusmão Coimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Rijo in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes, Octávio Valadão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FZZ Sport Club and the F.C. Cristelo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes FZZ Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Octávio Valadão. Demian Thorn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gusmão Coimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Rijo in the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, FZZ Sport Club's Octávio Valadão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gusmão Coimbra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Demian Thorn made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octávio Valadão in the 52nd minute of play forced F.C. Cristelo's goalkeeper Gusmão Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gusmão Coimbra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cássio Rijo in the 53rd minute. A collision led to F.C. Cristelo getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Adelino Gonçalves hit a great ball. Cássio Rijo came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gusmão Coimbra could save by the left post. Nunez Tano's late challenge caught a FZZ Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nunez Tano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Nunez Tano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th match minute, F.C. Cristelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of F.C. Cristelo booed when FZZ Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Taborda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Iturri Sorribo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Esteves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Demian Thorn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jorge Esteves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. F.C. Cristelo's Gusmão Coimbra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Cristelo from getting a goal against them. F.C. Cristelo's Gusmão Coimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octávio Valadão in the 89th minute of play. Demian Thorn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Esteves having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio Rijo got free with Gusmão Coimbra in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FZZ Sport Club's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
