Israel Gudesteo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Bezerra having to interfere. Tony Shevchenko kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Carlos Santiago sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Andréas Sundström threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Carlos Santiago this time. Amável Neto lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in MTK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Gudesteo in the 25th minute of play forced MTK's goalkeeper Emílio Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emílio Bezerra came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Supernatural's Tony Shevchenko. But to his dismay, Tony Shevchenko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Rui Lessa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Supernatural's Andréas Sundström. Andréas Sundström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. MTK's Emílio Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Ferreira in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Tony Shevchenko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Bezerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 38th minute Vitinho Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Lessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Andréas Sundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Rui Lessa managed to get in a good position for a shot. MTK's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Lessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andréas Sundström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kalle Pille charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kalle Pille the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Supernatural was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalle Pille to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vitinho Ferreira to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, MTK's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Ferreira came free, but Emílio Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Supernatural's Emílio Bezerra threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from João Castro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 57 minutes into the game, Supernatural's Vitinho Ferreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emílio Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Thanks to some nice moves Kalle Pille could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Emílio Bezerra however easily saved by the left post. Emílio Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Castro in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Vladimiro Lages managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MTK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Lages was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. MTK's Emílio Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Castro in the 71st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony Shevchenko got free with Emílio Bezerra in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andréas Sundström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Lages, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 75 minutes, Vladimiro Lages managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MTK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Lages was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, MTK's Emílio Bezerra got control of the ball when Vitinho Ferreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Vladimiro Lages had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute of the match, Tony Shevchenko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emílio Bezerra saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. MTK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Tony Shevchenko scored to the left of an out of position Emílio Bezerra, making the score, 1-4. If Vladimiro Lages had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Supernatural walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
