Spectators: 6955 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1955, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jake Garnett started the match with the kick off. Jack Beasley might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jon Bull. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jack Beasley ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ambleside's goalkeeper Brian Hallam , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ambleside! Ambleside:s Brian Hallam showed great skill when he stopped Freddie Lewington:s penalty. 19 minutes into the match, Freddie Lewington notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ambleside's Brian Hallam . Brian Hallam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Owen Kessler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calum Rice recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28thth minute of the game Jack Beasley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Croston's Jon Bull was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jack Beasley struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Jon Bull didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ambleside. After 34 played minutes Croston got a freekick which was hit by Elisha Mansfield. 37 minutes into the match, Croston's goalkeeper Jon Bull had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Owen Kessler . 40 minutes into the match, Croston's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Beasley came free, but Jon Bull reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Jack Beasley recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jon Bull. Jack Beasley showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jack Beasley to make the kick off. If Calum Rice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Lewington hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. When Ambleside's Jack Beasley in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Croston's goalie prevented a goal. In the 67th match minute, Ambleside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austen Eubank to maneuver through the defense. When Owen Kessler fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ambleside's protests and gave Owen Kessler a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Owen Kessler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calum Rice received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Brian Hallam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Willie Shephard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ambleside's zone, Jake Garnett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Hallam came out of the goal and Jake Garnett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jon Bull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Beasley in the 85th minute of the match. Jon Bull took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Owen Kessler , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calum Rice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jake Garnett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Hallam having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Croston's Brian Hallam threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jake Garnett, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
