Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hans Smefeldt to make the kick off. Hans Smefeldt did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Donald Fenwick 84 minutes into the match. 柯誉海 came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Memphis Grizzlies's Stuart Banks. But to his dismay, Stuart Banks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Banks in the 90th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper 柯誉海 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Stuart Banks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 柯誉海. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stuart Banks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
