After a defensive mix-up in Nottingham Forest's zone, Rory Trimble stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus King came out of the goal and Rory Trimble tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 33 in the game by Hans Smefeldt from a close distance when the talented Marcus King managed to make a qualified save. Nottingham Forest's players were relieved. 34 minutes into the match, Rain Kuusk notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Nottingham Forest's Marcus King. Marcus King was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tony Stone hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hans Smefeldt to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcus King stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hans Smefeldt's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Nottingham Forest's Marcus King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marlon Mumford in the 62nd minute of play. Marcus King didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marlon Mumford went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 70 minutes into the game, Marlon Mumford cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Marcus King was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcus King took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlon Mumford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stuart Farrell charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stuart Farrell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stuart Farrell hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Miles Mabbutt kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hans Smefeldt in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus King saved Nottingham Forest from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo's zone, Miles Mabbutt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 柯誉海 came out of the goal and Miles Mabbutt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miles Mabbutt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but 柯誉海 made a huge save. In the 90th minute Geoff McParland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 柯誉海 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flamengo's Rory Trimble got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the game, Geoff McParland recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of 柯誉海. Geoff McParland showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-3. Flamengo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Nottingham Forest for a fine match.
