But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derek Findley couldn't finish the play. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Juvenal Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Holden in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Neil Deacon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kris Couch. Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neil Deacon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When Eddie Wittingham came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Lisburn Distillery F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Wittingham couldn't finish the play. Kris Couch came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Eddie Wittingham. But to his dismay, Eddie Wittingham quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Kris Couch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek Findley in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Derek Findley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kris Couch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Kris Couch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Wittingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Neil Deacon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kris Couch. Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neil Deacon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. After 41 played minutes Lisburn Distillery F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Karl Pointon. A collision led to Lisburn Distillery F.C. getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Tommy Boyce hit a great ball. A collision led to Autocares Vázquez Olmedo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Wilfried Stekelenburg hit a great ball. Neil Deacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Couch having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Boyce to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Eddie Wittingham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. In the 59th minute, Derek Findley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kris Couch was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. Kris Couch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Neil Deacon went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. Tommy Boyce blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kris Couch having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Deacon in the 71st minute of play forced Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's goalkeeper Kris Couch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Boyce scored 0-10 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kris Couch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Derek Findley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Couch having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Tommy Boyce ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kris Couch was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-11. In the 89th minute, Derek Findley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lisburn Distillery F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-13. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Wittingham in the 92nd minute of play forced Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's goalkeeper Kris Couch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Derek Findley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kris Couch was a little too slow when Derek Findley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-14. Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
