The referee showed Kjartan Játmundsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet as Guðfinnur Oddsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gauti Erlendsson. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Gauti Erlendsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jóndór Snæfinnsson in the 21st minute of play.
