The audience thought a goal was coming when Harold McIan got free with John Todd in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Biddy Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon McBjarton having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Portlaw AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ailín McLian. Brendon McBjarton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bardain Dunne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Bardain Dunne put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Brendon McBjarton. 20 minutes into the match, Portlaw AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Biddy Hunt came free, but Brendon McBjarton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Portlaw AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bardain Dunne came free, but Brendon McBjarton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brendon McBjarton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bardain Dunne showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 67 minute of play. Brendon McBjarton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bardain Dunne, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the game, Blamhac Quinnless cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. John Todd was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 76th match minute, Portlaw AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ailín McLian to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute Blamhac Quinnless shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Todd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Kildare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blaire McDecland to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kildare had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
