The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alexander McDecland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Sheridan in the 8th minute of play. Alexander McDecland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baird Taylor in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Gilian Prunty made a precise shot to the right of Alexander McDecland. Hedgetown's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 28 minutes into the game, Moyoran's Gilian Prunty nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexander McDecland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Alexander McDecland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilian Prunty's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Alexander McDecland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilian Prunty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Baird Taylor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander McDecland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baird Taylor hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the game, Moyoran's Baird Taylor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexander McDecland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After the first half Moyoran were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Baird Taylor made the kick off in the second half. Hedgetown's Alexander McDecland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baird Taylor in the 54th minute of play. Gilian Prunty struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Alexander McDecland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moyoran. If Blaine Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Hedgetown's zone, Gilian Prunty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander McDecland came out of the goal and Gilian Prunty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blaine Delaney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boru Molloy having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Hedgetown's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gilian Prunty fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Bedilia McAlphie fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hedgetown's protests and gave Bedilia McAlphie a yellow card for diving instead. When Hedgetown's Phelan Beckett in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moyoran's goalie prevented a goal. In the 75th minute, Blavock Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilian Prunty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Baird Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilian Prunty blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander McDecland having to make a save. Hedgetown's Alexander McDecland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baird Taylor in the 98th minute of play. The Moyoran players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
