Ryleigh McJon's late challenge caught a Ballinrolla AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryleigh McJon helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Killeany got a freekick which was hit by Ryleigh McJon. When Breadan Gillmour fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Killeany's protests and gave Breadan Gillmour a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Killeany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breadan Gillmour to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brine Costello in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Farrell McAaron saved Ballinrolla AFC from getting behind. 21 minutes into the game, Tyrone Sheridan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bedilia Robinson. Tyrone Sheridan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Tyrone Sheridan fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinrolla AFC's protests and gave Tyrone Sheridan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ballinrolla AFC's Tyrone Sheridan got a free kick in the 25th minute. Patrick McNamara hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Boyle Dimson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farrell McAaron having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brennon Molloy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Breadan Gillmour left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Killeany fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brine Costello in the 62nd minute of play forced Ballinrolla AFC's goalkeeper Farrell McAaron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th match minute, Ballinrolla AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bragan Morrison to maneuver through the defense. If Brine Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boyle Dimson got free with Farrell McAaron in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Breadan Gillmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Killeany's goal looked a bit too open when Brennon Molloy came free, but Bedilia Robinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farrell McAaron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breanainn Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breffni McNamara during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ballinrolla AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Breffni McNamara hit a great ball. Farrell McAaron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breanainn Beckett in the 88th minute of the match. Farrell McAaron made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boyle Dimson in the 91st minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Killeany fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Ballinrolla AFC. Glen McPeter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bedilia Robinson. 2-1. Many of Killeany's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Killeany may have spent more time on the ball, but Ballinrolla AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
