When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Russell Harrington sped through Horwich's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stephen Poate. 10 minutes into the game, Peter Silk recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stephen Poate. Peter Silk showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 14th minute, Russell Harrington made a precise shot to the right of Stephen Poate. Horwich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. A well placed Peter Silk short distance shot in the 18th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 23rd match minute, Horwich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Truscott to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Peter Silk from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Stephen Poate's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Russell Harrington managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Bristol Gas's supporters rose to their feet, but Russell Harrington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephen Poate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the AFC Bristol Gas defense, Freddie Nash kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orlando Punke. The AFC Bristol Gas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orlando Punke should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddie Nash in the 33rd minute of play forced AFC Bristol Gas's goalkeeper Orlando Punke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Silk in the 36th minute of play forced Horwich's goalkeeper Stephen Poate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Russell Harrington came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the AFC Bristol Gas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russell Harrington couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute, Ivan Summers made a precise shot to the right of Orlando Punke. AFC Bristol Gas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Russell Harrington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Poate having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Silk in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stephen Poate saved Horwich from getting behind. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Horwich's goalkeeper Stephen Poate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chaz Firth to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Horwich's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Silk came free, but Stephen Poate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Summers kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Orlando Punke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddie Nash in the 63rd minute of the match. With a little luck, AFC Bristol Gas's Orlando Punke got control of the ball when Freddie Nash tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 75 played minutes AFC Bristol Gas got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Moxon. In the 78th minute, Russell Harrington ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephen Poate was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. Russell Harrington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horwich's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
