Spectators: 7598 (Terracing: 5700, Seating: 1747, VIP seats: 151) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gareth Featherson kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute of the match Stuart Pearson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carl Young showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Gareth Featherson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Radway Pirates's Carl Young. Carl Young was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tosh Thornton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Carl Young tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Carter made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Stew Cox sent off a good shot on target. The attack was good, but when Gareth Featherson in the 21st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gareth Featherson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Carl Young tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Steven Miller came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Radway Pirates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven Miller couldn't finish the play. Kristian Panther charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristian Panther the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Kristian Panther hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Seb Johnston fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Radway Pirates's protests and gave Seb Johnston a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, Radway Pirates was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seb Johnston to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Radway Pirates's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dale Meechan was slow to take the kick. During this time London City's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Dale Meechan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carl Young quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Andy Bray hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Dale Clifford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steven Miller to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes London City got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Panther. After a defensive mix-up in Radway Pirates's zone, Tosh Thornton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carl Young came out of the goal and Tosh Thornton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Steven Miller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Carter having to interfere. Carl Young made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Tosh Thornton sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the game, Radway Pirates's Stew Cox nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Carter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Tosh Thornton took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carl Young. Carl Young dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Gareth Featherson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Carl Young when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 86th match minute, London City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Roche to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute Stew Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Carter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Radway Pirates's Carl Young got control of the ball when Tosh Thornton tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Radway Pirates supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching London City's performance. The match ended with a win for London City.
