One of New Teamname:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Letchworth United:s goal. Casey Crocker had in the 11thth minute some difficulties stopping Jez Howard's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Les Mulligan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dylon Hehir kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Todd Shipley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Wally Heslop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Teamname's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wally Heslop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Todd Shipley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy Bullard's late challenge caught a New Teamname's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 33 minutes, Les Mulligan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Teamname's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Mulligan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Les Mulligan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Lance Pilkington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justin Patten hit a great ball. After 52 played minutes, Letchworth United's Jez Howard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Casey Crocker came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Letchworth United reached it. Stan Carey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Pilkington having to interfere. Lance Pilkington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Les Mulligan in the 56th minute of the match. Wally Heslop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todd Shipley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, New Teamname's Wally Heslop got a free kick in the 65th minute. Les Mulligan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Lance Pilkington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. New Teamname's supporters rose to their feet, but Les Mulligan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lance Pilkington breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Letchworth United's zone, Les Mulligan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Pilkington came out of the goal and Les Mulligan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Les Mulligan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Dylon Hehir managed to get in a good position for a shot. Letchworth United's supporters rose to their feet, but Dylon Hehir was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casey Crocker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Letchworth United succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though New Teamname had controlled the match.
