Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Francis Price got the match started through his kick off. Terry Nethercot took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leroy Dibb. Forest Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 4 played minutes Forest Club got a freekick which was hit by Franz Hicks. Danny Sheene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Leroy Dibb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vern Sandell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Price, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Moore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Sandell having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Forest Club's zone, Norman Zamora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leroy Dibb came out of the goal and Norman Zamora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danny Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28thth minute of the game Danny Sheene who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Forest Club's Leroy Dibb was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 played minutes, Forest Club's John-Paul Barfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vern Sandell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Forest Club reached it. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Vern Sandell successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 40 minutes into the match, Forest Club's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Sheene came free, but Leroy Dibb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Norman Zamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Sheene in the 44th minute of play forced Forest Club's goalkeeper Leroy Dibb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 50 minutes Forest Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Louie Hough who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Millwall's Dean Fleetham to fire away a dangerous shot which Leroy Dibb despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danny Sheene to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Norman Zamora got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sebastian Moore came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Forest Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Moore couldn't finish the play. Forest Club's Leroy Dibb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Sheene in the 60th minute of play. In the 66th play minute Norman Zamora came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Leroy Dibb. 0-1. If Norman Zamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Francis Price shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Sandell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 minutes, Lewis Bayliff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Millwall and the Forest Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Millwall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Bayliff to maneuver through the defense. If Sebastian Moore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lewis Bayliff received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leroy Dibb came out and tried to block the shot, but Lewis Bayliff slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 82nd minute. Rupert Salt kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Leroy Dibb was a little too slow when Danny Sheene got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-3. Sebastian Moore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Sandell having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Francis Price made a precise shot to the right of Vern Sandell. Millwall's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Norman Zamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 99 minutes of play, Millwall's Danny Sheene made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leroy Dibb was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Millwall players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
