The referee ignored Southampton fc's protests and gave Marty Marshall a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mason FC booed when Southampton fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Marshall didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Gregory Brook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Travis McAleer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Southampton fc got a freekick which was hit by Jeremy Cooper. Gregory Brook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Perry Barker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Travis McAleer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregory Brook in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Jacob Hall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Southampton fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mason FC the free kick. After 29 played minutes Southampton fc got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Hall. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Gregory Brook managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mason FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Brook was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Travis McAleer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Gregory Brook made a precise shot to the right of Travis McAleer. Southampton fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Travis McAleer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregory Brook, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Mason FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jasper Emberson came free, but Pierce Meehan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Gregory Brook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis McAleer having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronan Duxbury during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronan Duxbury hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Zane Tomkin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Travis McAleer. After a defensive mix-up in Southampton fc's zone, Gregory Brook stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Travis McAleer came out of the goal and Gregory Brook tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Pat Ridsdale fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mason FC's protests and gave Pat Ridsdale a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Mason FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pat Ridsdale to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Brian Delaney managed to get in a good position for a shot. Southampton fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Brian Delaney was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierce Meehan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vinnie Everard's late challenge caught a Mason FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinnie Everard helped the player get up and apologised. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Mason FC's Gregory Brook in the 92nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Travis McAleer was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Southampton fc through an amazing save. When the final whistle sounded Mason FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Southampton fc.
