Colne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ashley Kyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Colne's Johnathon Browning got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ashley Kyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Al Burton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Kyle in the 54th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Wild Forest fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Al Burton was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Ashley Kyle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ashley Kyle really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martyn Goldthorpe during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th match minute, The Wild Forest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martyn Goldthorpe to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Lennie Shaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Al Burton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Kyle in the 76th minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colne reached it. With a little luck, The Wild Forest's Al Burton got control of the ball when Johnathon Browning tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90thth minute of the game Ashley Kyle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Wild Forest's Al Burton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Al Burton made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Johnathon Browning sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Lennie Shaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, The Wild Forest's goalkeeper Al Burton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johnathon Browning. Keiran Phimister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Mead having to interfere. The The Wild Forest fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Colne were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
