Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louis Lawton in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Piers Sansom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Louis Lawton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Sansom having to interfere. Dion Forbes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Sea Anemone FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sean Kalischer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 31 minutes into the game, Ash Leatherdale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thetford AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sea Anemone FC the free kick. The supporters of Sea Anemone FC booed when Thetford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ash Leatherdale didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Thetford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dion Forbes came free, but Piers Sansom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Dion Forbes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sea Anemone FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Sean Kalischer's late challenge caught a Sea Anemone FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sean Kalischer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Sean Kalischer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sea Anemone FC's Dion Forbes pulled a muscle in his back after 42 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Thetford AFC's Toby Clayton got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Louis Lawton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Piers Sansom having to make a save. After 48 played minutes, Sea Anemone FC's Jeff Hindmarsh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Piers Sansom came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sea Anemone FC reached it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rio Fawcett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barrie Auty during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sea Anemone FC's Barrie Auty got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Thetford AFC's zone, Louis Lawton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Piers Sansom came out of the goal and Louis Lawton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piers Sansom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Louis Lawton's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Louis Lawton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Piers Sansom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Barrie Auty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Steven Evans came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Sea Anemone FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven Evans couldn't finish the play. Rio Fawcett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gwyn Dlyan kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Piers Sansom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Lawton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sea Anemone FC's Andy Lockwood got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Sea Anemone FC's Louis Lawton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Piers Sansom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st match minute, Thetford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Kalischer to maneuver through the defense. If Louis Lawton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Sea Anemone FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Thetford AFC throughout the match.
