The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FYR of Slough's Liam Curtis got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Foxton FC's Joshua Simpson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Syd Corbridge in the 6th minute of play. Joshua Simpson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Syd Corbridge in the 8th minute of the match. Benjamin Jewson's late challenge caught a FYR of Slough's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Jewson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Foxton FC's Benjamin Jewson got a free kick in the 12th minute. Nicky Castleton spun around in front of the goal 19 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of FYR of Slough's goal. Joshua Simpson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sly Neville in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Foxton FC booed when FYR of Slough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Gough didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Castleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joshua Simpson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sly Neville in the 35th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Sly Neville made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Allan Gough got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Pete Bird sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Junior Chiverton skillfully saved the ball. Foxton FC's Joshua Simpson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sly Neville in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, FYR of Slough's Sly Neville dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. With a little luck, Foxton FC's Joshua Simpson got control of the ball when Ivan Wallbank tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joshua Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Syd Corbridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joshua Simpson was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Sly Neville capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sly Neville really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Joshua Simpson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Sharples in the 72nd minute of the match. When Nicky Castleton came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Foxton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicky Castleton couldn't finish the play. Nicky Castleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Foxton FC's zone, Ivan Wallbank stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua Simpson came out of the goal and Ivan Wallbank tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Nicky Castleton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gordon Lawson struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Junior Chiverton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Foxton FC. FYR of Slough's Sammy Abbotts shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Joshua Simpson but with some difficulty.
