Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Glyn Scholes took the kick off in the first half of the match. Alec Floyd received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Andre Byrne came out and tried to block the shot, but Alec Floyd slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Andre Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alec Floyd in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glyn Scholes in the 16th minute of play forced Dover AFC's goalkeeper Dale Swift to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Dover AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Les Markham came free, but Dale Swift reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match, Alec Floyd tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andre Byrne saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bruce Foster struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Andre Byrne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dover AFC. The audience was convinced that Glyn Scholes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Swift was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. 29 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alec Floyd came free, but Andre Byrne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Alec Floyd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andre Byrne was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 32nd match minute, Dover AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denzil Meehan to maneuver through the defense. Dale Swift made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Les Markham in the 38th minute of play. Glyn Scholes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alec Floyd to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Bruce Foster notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Liverpool FC's Andre Byrne. Andre Byrne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Glyn Scholes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Felix Beckett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Dover AFC booed when Liverpool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Alsford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andre Byrne came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Dover AFC's Bruce Foster. But to his dismay, Bruce Foster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Andre Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denzil Meehan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Hume hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Glyn Scholes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Dale Swift tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Glyn Scholes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Foster in the 77th minute of play forced Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Andre Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andre Byrne came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Dover AFC's Alec Floyd. But to his dismay, Alec Floyd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Andre Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alec Floyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Liverpool FC's Felix Beckett got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Alec Floyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dover AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alec Floyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Richie Tomkins came free, but Andre Byrne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Alec Floyd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andre Byrne came out of the goal and Alec Floyd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andre Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richie Tomkins in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dover AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Liverpool FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
