Brynn Fairbank kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Rod Langdon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stan Lansdell was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Danny Snowden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liam Blakewell's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute of the match Dane Hicks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danny Snowden skillfully saved the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Rod Langdon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birmingham yyw's Stan Lansdell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Clive Ellerby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Birmingham yyw fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Lance Coe charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lance Coe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rod Langdon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stan Lansdell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After 46 played minutes Birmingham yyw got a freekick which was hit by Lance Coe. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liam Blakewell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Trevor Bourne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vern Aldridge, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Liam Blakewell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danny Snowden. Burton upon Trent FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Liam Blakewell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After having played for 66 minutes, Will Ferrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burton upon Trent FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Ferrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Marek Potter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birmingham yyw's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burton upon Trent FC the free kick. In the 67th minute, Marek Potter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Will Ferrell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Stan Lansdell made a huge save. Danny Snowden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clive Ellerby went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 78th match minute, Birmingham yyw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronan Lynam to maneuver through the defense. Ronan Lynam's late challenge caught a Burton upon Trent FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronan Lynam helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd match minute, Birmingham yyw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronan Lynam to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the game, Liam Blakewell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Danny Snowden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Will Ferrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Lansdell having to interfere.
