Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stu Hough made the kick off which started today's match. Ashford Fc's Mick Lomas got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 9 minutes, Lance Coe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Birmingham yyw and the Ashford Fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Birmingham yyw's Lance Coe got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 12th match minute, Ashford Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damien Cheeseman to maneuver through the defense. Stu Hough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stan Lansdell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Warburton, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Mick Lomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Lansdell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Stu Hough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stan Lansdell was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Clive Ellerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Eddie Wiseman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birmingham yyw's Stan Lansdell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stu Hough in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Ashford Fc's James Smikle seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed James Smikle the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ashford Fc protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and James Smikle had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ashford Fc! In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Birmingham yyw. Vern Aldridge stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eddie Wiseman. 1-0. In the 36th minute of the match, Clive Ellerby got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eddie Wiseman was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 38 played minutes Ashford Fc got a freekick which was hit by Bryan Warburton. Ashford Fc's Eddie Wiseman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Blakewell in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Ashford Fc getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Bryan Warburton hit a great ball. Liam Blakewell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eddie Wiseman came out and tried to block the shot, but Liam Blakewell slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 44th minute. Eddie Wiseman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luke Bowden. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Liam Blakewell made a kick off. When Brendon Evans came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Ashford Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brendon Evans couldn't finish the play. Mick Lomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Clive Ellerby notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ashford Fc's Eddie Wiseman. Eddie Wiseman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luke Bowden hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Eddie Wiseman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liam Blakewell, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Eddie Wiseman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Ellerby in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronan Lynam in the 73rd minute of play forced Ashford Fc's goalkeeper Eddie Wiseman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Craig Knight in the 75th minute of play forced Birmingham yyw's goalkeeper Stan Lansdell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute, Stephen Beerman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Stan Lansdell, passed just outside the right post. Stu Hough hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ashford Fc's zone, Vern Aldridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Wiseman came out of the goal and Vern Aldridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the game, Birmingham yyw's Clive Ellerby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eddie Wiseman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Stan Lansdell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mick Lomas in the 88th minute of play. When Stephen Beerman fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashford Fc's protests and gave Stephen Beerman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Birmingham yyw booed when Ashford Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephen Beerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Liam Blakewell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Wiseman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eddie Wiseman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Coe in the 94th minute of play. After 96 played minutes Birmingham yyw got a freekick which was hit by Lance Coe. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ashford Fc players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Birmingham yyw.
