Aldeburgh FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave congelton saints the free kick. After 3 played minutes Aldeburgh FC got a freekick which was hit by Trevor Cheswick. After a rather tough play, Aldeburgh FC's Felix Gibson got a free kick in the 5th minute. Syd Haugue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miles Lowndes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Syd Haugue went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 12 minutes into the match, congelton saints's Syd Haugue sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miles Lowndes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Syd Haugue in the 15th minute of play forced Aldeburgh FC's goalkeeper Miles Lowndes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Syd Haugue notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Aldeburgh FC's Miles Lowndes. Miles Lowndes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Denzil Fenwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Aldeburgh FC's Felix Gibson got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Felix Gibson charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Gibson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Jude Burnett sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aldeburgh FC's Miles Lowndes didn't even have to move. Denzil Fenwick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Miles Lowndes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldeburgh FC's Miles Lowndes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Syd Haugue in the 30th minute of play. Miles Lowndes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Syd Haugue went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Jay Shaw was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Keith Newman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Keith Newman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. congelton saints's Michael Edmonton suffered a sore thigh after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Denzil Fenwick struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Miles Lowndes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for congelton saints. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denzil Fenwick made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Barry Gayle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. congelton saints's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Gayle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 minutes, Barry Gayle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the congelton saints and the Aldeburgh FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barry Gayle kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind congelton saints's goalkeeper Jay Shaw, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zane Jefferson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jay Shaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quentin Coulshaw hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Miles Lowndes was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Denzil Fenwick capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Denzil Fenwick really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Andy Deacon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Denzil Fenwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aldeburgh FC's goalkeeper Miles Lowndes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over congelton saints could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Aldeburgh FC throughout the match.
