Spectators: 8035 (Terracing: 6027, Seating: 1848, VIP seats: 160) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Conal Gray got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute Conal Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennie Platt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 played minutes Gone With the Win got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Alsop. Lennie Platt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Carey-Bertram, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gone With the Win booed when Ambleside was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Mawson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ryan Mawson kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Conal Gray ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lennie Platt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Conal Gray's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lennie Platt was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Guy Thompson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Shane Ruddock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conal Gray scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lennie Platt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lennie Platt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conal Gray's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When Jack Carey-Bertram came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Ambleside fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Carey-Bertram couldn't finish the play. Jack Carey-Bertram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennie Platt having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Conal Gray in the 54th minute of play forced Gone With the Win's goalkeeper Lennie Platt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Lennie Platt successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Jack Carey-Bertram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Conal Gray's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lennie Platt was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Jack Carey-Bertram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conal Gray in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lennie Platt saved Gone With the Win from getting behind. 82 minutes into the game, Jack Carey-Bertram cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Lennie Platt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jack Carey-Bertram recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Alsop kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the last second Lennie Platt throw himself and got hold of the ball when Conal Gray in the 94thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conal Gray in the 96th minute of play forced Gone With the Win's goalkeeper Lennie Platt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
