George Doughty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Junior Owls Project's Ritchie Impey got a free kick in the 5th minute. 17 minutes into the match, George Doughty notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin. Kevin Tonkin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rupert Courtney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 28 played minutes THFC Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Bolton. Kevin Tonkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Doughty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austin Marchant charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Austin Marchant the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of THFC Youth Academy booed when Junior Owls Project was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Austin Marchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. George Doughty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Doughty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kevin Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in THFC Youth Academy's zone, Austin Marchant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Tonkin came out of the goal and Austin Marchant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Austin Marchant made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Tonkin. THFC Youth Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Ritchie Impey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, George Doughty managed to get in a good position for a shot. Junior Owls Project's supporters rose to their feet, but George Doughty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Tonkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Terry Longthorn during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to THFC Youth Academy getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Terry Longthorn hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Austin Marchant got free with Kevin Tonkin in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the game, Alexander Bolton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. THFC Youth Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Junior Owls Project the free kick. Austin Marchant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Kevin Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Kevin Tonkin managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Junior Owls Project's Austin Marchant fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 65th match minute, THFC Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stuart Osbourn to maneuver through the defense. Stuart Osbourn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jasper Harding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stuart Osbourn, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Courtney in the 76th minute of play forced Junior Owls Project's goalkeeper Jasper Harding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Austin Marchant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Junior Owls Project's supporters rose to their feet, but Austin Marchant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 93rd minute, Junior Owls Project's George Doughty dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Philip Branch hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The Junior Owls Project supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Junior Owls Project would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
