The corner was taken by Olimpiu Dragnea in the 6th minute. Goo Goo Dolls's Olimpiu Dragnea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hannes Sandwall in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Barry Roy did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Hannes Sandwall 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Camron Clapham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Porter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Drake in the 13th minute of the match. A hard shot 16 in the game by Barry Roy from a close distance when the talented Hannes Sandwall managed to make a qualified save. Leicester Foxes Academy's players were relieved. In the 19th minute, Teddy Ball hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute of the match Niles Andrews sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Phil Porter skillfully saved the ball. Hannes Sandwall made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Kenny Anson sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Goo Goo Dolls booed when Leicester Foxes Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niles Andrews didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barry Roy got free with Hannes Sandwall in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hannes Sandwall was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Barry Roy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Barry Roy really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The Goo Goo Dolls fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Goo Goo Dolls's Olimpiu Dragnea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hannes Sandwall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olimpiu Dragnea's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the Leicester Foxes Academy defense, Olimpiu Dragnea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannes Sandwall. The Leicester Foxes Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannes Sandwall should have stopped the shot. In the last second Hannes Sandwall throw himself and got hold of the ball when Olimpiu Dragnea in the 41stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 42nd minute, Felix Lane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Porter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Ericsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Leicester Foxes Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Dragnea came free, but Hannes Sandwall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Goo Goo Dolls getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Camron Clapham hit a great ball. Niles Andrews blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phil Porter having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Drake got free with Phil Porter in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hannes Sandwall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Roy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Anson in the 76th minute of play forced Leicester Foxes Academy's goalkeeper Hannes Sandwall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phil Porter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Drake, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Dragnea in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hannes Sandwall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oscar Drake could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Phil Porter made a huge save. In the 87th minute Olimpiu Dragnea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Sandwall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Anson in the 91st minute of play forced Leicester Foxes Academy's goalkeeper Hannes Sandwall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Butler charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Grant Butler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Leicester Foxes Academy's Grant Butler got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Grant Butler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
