A collision led to Michael Island FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Rodney Friebe hit a great ball. When Phillip Gettins came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Real Brid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip Gettins couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute Marcus Higgins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giles Gale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Michael Island FC booed when Real Brid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierce Topham didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Real Brid's goal looked a bit too open when Dominic Fenton came free, but Giles Gale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Dominic Fenton made a precise shot to the right of Giles Gale. Real Brid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Giles Gale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Billy Shakespeare's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Giles Gale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Fenton in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Higgins in the 28th minute of play forced Real Brid's goalkeeper Giles Gale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodney Friebe's late challenge caught a Real Brid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodney Friebe helped the player get up and apologised. Rodney Friebe kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. John-Paul Gomersall kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Real Brid's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Shakespeare came free, but Giles Gale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giles Gale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Waple, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Real Brid's Phillip Gettins got a free kick in the 46th minute. The Real Brid players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Michael Island FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quentin Marshall stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Real Brid's Giles Gale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Waple in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th play minute Marcus Higgins came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Giles Gale. 0-3. Phillip Gettins charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phillip Gettins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Billy Shakespeare really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Giles Gale came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Michael Island FC's Billy Shakespeare. But to his dismay, Billy Shakespeare quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Michael Island FC played a much better game than Real Brid and deserved their victory. The Real Brid players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
