Horley's Sammy Lock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasco Freire in the 5th minute of play. Ian Watson scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sammy Lock, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Ian Watson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Horley's Sammy Lock. Sammy Lock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 14 minutes into the match, Horley's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Watson came free, but Sammy Lock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sammy Lock didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Plaistow United's Alf Key shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. 21 minutes into the game, Ian Watson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Sammy Lock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Horley's zone, Alf Key stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sammy Lock came out of the goal and Alf Key tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 played minutes Horley got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Berryman. In the 30th minute of the match Brynn McMahon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sammy Lock showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ian Watson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sammy Lock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After some careless play in the Horley defense, Ian Watson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sammy Lock. The Horley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sammy Lock should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute Vasco Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sammy Lock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-9 became the score in the 40th minute when Alf Key elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Shane Bamford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th match minute, Horley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shane Bamford to maneuver through the defense. If Shane Bamford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keanu Lancaster was the one to do the kick off. In the 64th minute, Plaistow United's Ian Watson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11. After having played for 67 minutes, Ian Watson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Plaistow United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Watson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Horley's Sammy Lock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Key in the 69th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Alf Key took a quick shot and it went in 0-12 without a chance for Sammy Lock to make any attempt to save it. The Plaistow United fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Plaistow United's Brendon Saville looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-16 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Horley fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Plaistow United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
