In the 22nd minute, Tristan Hopton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flying Haddocks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 25 minutes into the match, Alex Moon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Kozak. FC Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Moon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 37th minute, Alex Moon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robert Kozak was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. Alex Moon might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robert Kozak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Moon was the one to do the kick off. Ray Swanson charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ray Swanson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ray Swanson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Denny Downes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Robert Kozak came out and tried to block the shot, but Denny Downes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 58th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 62 minutes into the game, when Marlon Blain put in a rough tackle. In the 63rd minute, Marlon Blain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Dom Jewson got a free kick in the 65th minute. Robert Kozak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierce Ashton, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Denny Downes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes Flying Haddocks's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jim Lineker who took care of the corner kick. FC Barcelona's Jim Lineker was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Miroslaw Hoffman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierce Ashton got free with Robert Kozak in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denny Downes in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robert Kozak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the match, Denny Downes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Robert Kozak, 0-11. Flying Haddocks's Johnnie Bridge was substituted for Denny Downes. Robert Kozak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierce Ashton, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The FC Barcelona fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Flying Haddocks were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
