Ashley Shipley took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miroslaw Hoffman. Miroslaw Hoffman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Flying Haddocks's Miroslaw Hoffman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Flying Haddocks from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Denny Downes to strike the kick off in the second half. When Pierce Ashton came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Flying Haddocks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierce Ashton couldn't finish the play.
