Ashley Driver showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Hilsea's Orson Gamble got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Egg Chasers FC's Tosh Goodwin in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hilsea's goalie prevented a goal. In the 15th minute of the match Egg Chasers FC got a corner. Hilsea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Johnathan Jobson ran over to the corner to take the kick. John England made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tosh Goodwin in the 18th minute of play. John England showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Fowler in the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Tosh Goodwin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. John England was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute of the match Egg Chasers FC got a corner. Hilsea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Johnathan Jobson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Damien Hubbard thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished John England, a very annoying self made goal in the 25th minute which led to 1-3. If Bruce Marler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Tosh Goodwin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John England was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Robbie Fowler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. John England tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Marler took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John England. John England dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. The Hilsea players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Egg Chasers FC were winning 1-6.

The wind increased when Sidney Doyle made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when Hilsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Gray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tosh Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hilsea's John England played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tosh Goodwin in the 53rd minute of play. The Egg Chasers FC fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when Egg Chasers FC's Tosh Goodwin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tosh Goodwin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without John England having to make a save. In the 63rdth minute of the game Tosh Goodwin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hilsea's John England was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kenny Dobson hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Tosh Goodwin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving John England. That made the score 1-8 in the 69 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tosh Goodwin in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John England saved Hilsea from getting behind. John England made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tosh Goodwin in the 74th minute. Orson Gamble charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orson Gamble the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when Hilsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orson Gamble didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnathan Jobson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for John England. Hilsea's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Tosh Goodwin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John England was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Robbie Fowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John England having to interfere. Egg Chasers FC's Tosh Goodwin managed to work through Hilsea's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tosh Goodwin dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Tosh Goodwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
