After 9 minutes Heavenly Hooters's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Trevor Lyons who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Hockley AFC's John-Paul Easter getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Will Goldthorpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jason Seagrave, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Will Goldthorpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xaverius Xavier in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Leo Bean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Lineker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by John-Paul Easter in the 25th minute of play forced Heavenly Hooters's goalkeeper Will Goldthorpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Bean to make the kick off. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hockley AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
