After a defensive mix-up in a k l p j f c a's zone, Curtis Folan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Mergildo came out of the goal and Curtis Folan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Salvadore in the 25th minute of play forced a k l p j f c a's goalkeeper Mateo Mergildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. a k l p j f c a's Andres-Federico Iniesta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Frank Blake in the 27 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Saville got free with Mateo Mergildo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. a k l p j f c a's Hette Visscher got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. a k l p j f c a's attentive Lance Baxter managed to snatch the ball when Frank Blake made a throw-in in the 40th minute of the game. a k l p j f c a's Brad Foley quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Frank Blake, made in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Micco Maradudin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Mateo Mergildo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateo Jago made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Hette Visscher sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, a k l p j f c a's Brad Foley got a free kick in the 65th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Hette Visscher could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Mateo Jago however easily saved by the left post.
