Słowenia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niko Padežnik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Vurkeljc in the 4th minute of play forced Słowenia FC's goalkeeper Muharem Mohar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Vurkeljc hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The supporters of Słowenia FC booed when Kočevje FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rajmund Dobnikar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Branivoj Borišek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliks Šenk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Kočevje FC's Claudio Vurkeljc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Muharem Mohar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Muharem Mohar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Vurkeljc in the 39th minute of the match. If Niko Padežnik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Feliks Šenk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tevž Juršič, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Branivoj Borišek fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Feliks Šenk, passed just outside the right post. Niko Padežnik hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
