When Michael Brander came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Akademin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Brander couldn't finish the play. When Joakim Malmström fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thames Ironworks FC's protests and gave Joakim Malmström a yellow card for diving instead. Thames Ironworks FC's Olof Linberg got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's Bo Uter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reine Öman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Michael Brander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Linberg's late challenge caught a Akademin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bror Albäck acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 41st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Birger Thorsberg. After some careless play in the Thames Ironworks FC defense, Michael Brander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bror Albäck. The Thames Ironworks FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bror Albäck should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Thames Ironworks FC booed when Akademin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Jonasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torsten Lundhberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reine Öman. Akademin FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's Torsten Lundhberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Bo Uter kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reine Öman. That made the score 1-2 in the 65 minute of play. Thames Ironworks FC's Bo Uter got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Michael Brander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Akademin FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Brander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bror Albäck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michael Brander might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bror Albäck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michael Brander ran back to his position shaking his head. Reine Öman made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Albert Strömbom sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Thames Ironworks FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
