An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Holm in the 13th minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Sven-Oskar Ekenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dag Lundkvist struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paris. 18 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Holm came free, but Sven-Oskar Ekenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The long shot by Malte Backman in the 22nd minute really tested Freddie Boberg's skills. Emanuel Holm blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Oskar Ekenberg having to make a save. Torsten Bjurström might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Oskar Ekenberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torsten Bjurström ran back to his position shaking his head. After 46 played minutes Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Malte Backman. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Holm to strike the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Holm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Paris's supporters rose to their feet, but Folke Browall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Björk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
