After having played for 10 minutes, Jonny Vennerdal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hjälmen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonny Vennerdal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute Ingvar Stenqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Andreas Lundblad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Karl-Michael Olsson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingvar Stenqvist's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Ingvar Stenqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg having to make a save.

A well placed Ingvar Stenqvist short distance shot in the 53rd minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 57th minute of the match Magnus Sandell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Georg Holmstedt skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hjälmen FC's zone, Ingvar Stenqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg came out of the goal and Ingvar Stenqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Stenqvist in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Emil Hjortsberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Bullaren's Karl-Michael Olsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 96 minutes into the match, Bullaren's goal looked a bit too open when Jonny Vennerdal came free, but Georg Holmstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
