The Norrlands Guld fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Ove Wiklund should have stopped the shot. The supporters of VS Åby booed when Norrlands Guld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Ambjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Verner Ödmann made a kick off. Karl-Ove Wiklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Verner Ödmann in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute Gunnar Tøndborg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Wiklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Piotr Fahlgren during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. VS Åby's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
