The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Mathooja FK's Brian Gullesson got a free kick in the 5th minute. A long shot from Henrik Alebom in the 7th minute of play was well struck, but Niklas Brodin made a really good save at the right post. Niklas Brodin didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Dynamo Luleå's Herman Ahlén shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Ian Willig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Åström in the 18th minute of play. Mathooja FK's Jonas Fransson got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ian Willig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Åström in the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dynamo Luleå's zone, Jonas Fransson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Willig came out of the goal and Jonas Fransson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niklas Brodin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Ahlén in the 28th minute of the match. Bror Vibergs short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Niklas Brodin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dynamo Luleå's Ian Willig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Åström in the 33rd minute of play. If Alex Åström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Dynamo Luleå's zone, Jonas Fransson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Willig came out of the goal and Jonas Fransson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erling Norberg's late challenge caught a Dynamo Luleå's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erling Norberg helped the player get up and apologised. If Jonas Fransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Niklas Brodin made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Johannes Mårtensson sent off a good shot on target. Andrés Roales lost his temper 48 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dynamo Luleå fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! Jonas Fransson placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bror Viberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Dynamo Luleå's Ian Willig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Dynamo Luleå from getting a goal against them. Tom Hellqvist hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Alex Åström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Mathooja FK's Alex Åström in the 66th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ian Willig was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Dynamo Luleå through an amazing save. Dynamo Luleå's Ian Willig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Dynamo Luleå from getting a goal against them. Alex Åström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Willig having to interfere.
