A collision led to Överlida getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Stig Tunander hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Överlida's goalkeeper Bernt Julin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt-Åke Rosendahl. After 13th play minutes Rudolf Andreasson shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Bernt Julin and just under the crossbar into goal. Bernt Julin made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Bengt-Åke Rosendahl sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anton Ek during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anton Ek hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Frans Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig Tunander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Magnus Kilman in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frans Bäckström saved Österfärnebo IK from getting behind. In the 31st minute of the match, Bengt-Åke Rosendahl got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernt Julin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt-Åke Rosendahl got free with Bernt Julin in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frans Bäckström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Magnus Kilman's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. If Stig Tunander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Överlida getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Karl Beck hit a great ball. Karl-Magnus Kilman struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Frans Bäckström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Överlida. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute, Vidar Stephansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Österfärnebo IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Bernt Julin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Löfkvist in the 57th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Vidar Stephansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Bernt Julin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 72nd minute Bengt-Åke Rosendahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Julin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernt Julin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidar Stephansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidar Stephansson in the 80th minute of play forced Överlida's goalkeeper Bernt Julin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Överlida's Bernt Julin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Åke Rosendahl in the 82nd minute of play. Herbert Löfkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herbert Löfkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jens-Erik Magnusson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Stefan Snäll hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Bengt-Åke Rosendahl fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Österfärnebo IK's protests and gave Bengt-Åke Rosendahl a yellow card for diving instead. Överlida's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
