Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sven-Ove Qvarnström started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, Österbybruk's Ove Willig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmie Skog made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Willig in the 9th minute of play forced Karlsborg's goalkeeper Jimmie Skog to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimmie Skog stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ove Willig's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Jimmie Skog didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingmar Hamnberg went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Jimmie Skog took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ove Willig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Sven-Ove Qvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Björkkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Qvarnström in the 24th minute of play. Jarl Bruse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Michael Björkkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tommy Häll hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Johnny Malm took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Michael Björkkvist. Österbybruk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Ove Willig came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Österbybruk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ove Willig couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Karlsborg getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Håkan Bergström hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Ingmar Hamnberg notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Karlsborg's Jimmie Skog. Jimmie Skog was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ingmar Hamnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jimmie Skog tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ove Willig to strike the kick off in the second half. Jimmie Skog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ove Willig in the 52nd minute of the match. Karlsborg's Jimmie Skog played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Willig in the 53rd minute of play. When Ove Willig came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Österbybruk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ove Willig couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the game, Sven-Edvin Sandwall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karlsborg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Österbybruk the free kick. In the 69th minute of the match Jakob Tidéksson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jimmie Skog showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ove Willig struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Jimmie Skog didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Österbybruk. After some careless play in the Österbybruk defense, Jarl Bruse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Björkkvist. The Österbybruk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Björkkvist should have stopped the shot. Ove Willig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Karlsborg's Håkan Bergström got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ingmar Hamnberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jimmie Skog firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Österbybruk players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
