The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arman Eriksson in the 3rd minute of play forced Toon Army's goalkeeper Elof Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Toon Army's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Öfverman came free, but Elof Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 9 minutes of play, Leeds United FC's Lucjan Skorny made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elof Bergqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! 12 minutes into the game, Leeds United FC's Marc Öfverman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elof Bergqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 15 minutes into the game, one of Toon Army:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gerrie Mühren placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Gerrie Mühren scored 0-3 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elof Bergqvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elof Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Lindsten in the 23rd minute of play. Leeds United FC's Arman Eriksson got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Leeds United FC fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Leeds United FC's Marc Öfverman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Elof Bergqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerrie Mühren in the 29th minute of the match. Arman Eriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elof Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arman Eriksson ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Marc Öfverman sped through Toon Army's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elof Bergqvist. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Öfverman to make the kick off. Elof Bergqvist was a little too slow when Marc Öfverman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-8. Toon Army's Elof Bergqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börje Lindsten in the 59th minute of play. Bernt Abrahamsson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Gerrie Mühren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elof Bergqvist. Toon Army's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerrie Mühren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. Arman Eriksson had several of the Toon Army's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 66 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Elof Bergqvist as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 73 played minutes Arman Eriksson rounded Toon Army's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-12. From close distance Gerrie Mühren pressed in the 0-13 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 76 minutes into the game. Toon Army's Elof Bergqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Toon Army from getting a goal against them. Elof Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arman Eriksson in the 80th minute of play. Elof Bergqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arman Eriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arman Eriksson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elof Bergqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Gerrie Mühren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Elof Bergqvist made a huge save. When Leeds United FC's Marc Öfverman in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Toon Army's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Björn Alebäck got free with Elof Bergqvist in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toon Army's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Arman Eriksson scored to the left of an out of position Elof Bergqvist, making the score, 0-15. The Toon Army fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Leeds United FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
