The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's zone, Arturo Otsoko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jörgen Malmström came out of the goal and Arturo Otsoko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Björn Enegren made in the 4th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bo Hammarberg. In the 8th minute Arturo Otsoko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Malmström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lärbo's Flavio Grasso suffered a sore thigh after 9 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 9th match minute, Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Enegren to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Georg Alebom in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lärbo's Wu Xi Peng. Jörgen Malmström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Otsoko in the 19th minute of the match. Lärbo were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daddy Cool took the corner. Helge Delin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a rather tough play, Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's Björn Enegren got a free kick in the 24th minute. Jörgen Malmström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arturo Otsoko's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Björn Enegren in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lärbo's Octavio Toro. Arturo Otsoko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 minutes, Georg Alebom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan and the Lärbo players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Arturo Otsoko came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Lärbo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Otsoko couldn't finish the play. Jörgen Malmström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Otsoko, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Arturo Otsoko made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Lärbo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Varol Uzalp hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wu Xi Peng in the 56th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's goalkeeper Jörgen Malmström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Alebom hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Arturo Otsoko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörgen Malmström having to interfere.
