After 9 played minutes Jonsereds IF got a freekick which was hit by Josef Viklund. In the 10th minute Leonard Wiklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Byström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Rolf Holmgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the game, Jonsereds IF's Per Biörkman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Magnus Almqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fredric Zachrisson during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Fredric Zachrisson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Jon Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a little luck, Jonsereds IF's Joel Byström got control of the ball when Jon Lindqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Jonsereds IF getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Krister Fastesson hit a great ball. Jonsereds IF's Joel Byström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Jonsereds IF from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Niles city's zone, Per Biörkman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magnus Almqvist came out of the goal and Per Biörkman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th match minute, Jonsereds IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Biörkman to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Allan Lundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57thth minute of the game Per Biörkman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Niles city's Magnus Almqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Per Biörkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magnus Almqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Biörkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emil Bryngelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonsereds IF's Joel Byström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolf Holmgren in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Lundin got free with Magnus Almqvist in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 97 minutes, Elliot Ekenberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jonsereds IF and the Niles city players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 played minutes Jonsereds IF got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Ekenberg. Joel Byström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Lindqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Jonsereds IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jonsereds IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
