With a little luck, Grunden Bois's Carl Dalström got control of the ball when Johan Eriksson tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Grunden Bois getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Malte Smed hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Eriksson in the 16th minute of play forced Grunden Bois's goalkeeper Carl Dalström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erik Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grunden Bois's zone, Johan Eriksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carl Dalström came out of the goal and Johan Eriksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carl Dalström was a little too slow when Ronaldo Insigne got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 29th match minute, Grunden Bois was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ola Magnusson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Ek got free with Carl Dalström in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carl Dalström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viktor Eliasson in the 31st minute of play. Grunden Bois's Anton Häll got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th match minute, AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Ek to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Grunden Bois booed when AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Ekberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Carl Dalström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After 62 minutes, Ronaldo Insigne made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Grunden Bois's Carl Dalström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carl Dalström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johan Eriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Viktor Eliasson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carl Dalström was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Insigne in the 71st minute of play forced Grunden Bois's goalkeeper Carl Dalström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match AIK got a corner. Grunden Bois's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gelu Negulescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AIK's Gelu Negulescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Carl Dalström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Grunden Bois booed when AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Eliasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Örn was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Pär Söderkvist capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pär Söderkvist really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. Grunden Bois's Carl Dalström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Ek in the 87th minute of play. Ronaldo Insigne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Dalström having to interfere. Grunden Bois's Kim Kvick was substituted for Malte Smed. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AIK fully deserved thier win.
