When Frank Brogren came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Runa United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Brogren couldn't finish the play. Odion Tao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Brogren in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Brian Strömberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melchester Rovers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Runa United the free kick. A collision led to Melchester Rovers getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Brian Strömberg hit a great ball. Runa United's Frank Brogren got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nils-Erik Åhlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from A.J. 太史慈, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Melchester Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Almstedt came free, but Odion Tao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Runa United getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Valentin Rydberg hit a great ball. Frank Brogren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 minutes Melchester Rovers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bo Eriksson who took care of the corner kick. Odion Tao came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Runa United's Frank Brogren. But to his dismay, Frank Brogren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Frank Brogren's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Odion Tao firmly grabbed it by the left post. Odion Tao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ted Almstedt in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Runa United's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Sandwall came free, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melchester Rovers's Odion Tao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Almstedt in the 40th minute of play. Odion Tao made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Frank Brogren sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute Frank Brogren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odion Tao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Ian Ekenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nils-Erik Åhlberg made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Ian Ekenberg sent off a good shot on target. Melchester Rovers's A.J. 太史慈 got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Melchester Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Ian Ekenberg. In the 61st minute, Ted Almstedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Runa United's goal looked a bit too open when A.J. 太史慈 came free, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Runa United booed when Melchester Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Pettersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bo Eriksson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Odion Tao. Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Melchester Rovers's Odion Tao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Brogren in the 71st minute of play. Brian Strömberg kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Odion Tao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ted Almstedt in the 74th minute of the match. Odion Tao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Almstedt in the 77th minute of play. Roger Sandwall's late challenge caught a Runa United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Sandwall helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Melchester Rovers getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Roger Sandwall hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, A.J. 太史慈 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valentin Rydberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that Runa United were the better team. Runa United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
