Di Röe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Valeriu Antohi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Melberg in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Di Röe were awarded a corner. Mattias Kjellberg went to the cornerflag to take it. Di Röe's George Kristiansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Rosendahl in the 28th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Gunnarskog IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Melberg came free, but Valeriu Antohi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sixten Hedbom made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gunnarskog IFK's Arvin Tidéksson. 36 minutes into the match, Gunnarskog IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Melberg came free, but Valeriu Antohi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Di Röe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerry Norberg to maneuver through the defense. Di Röe's George Kristiansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Rosendahl in the 39th minute of play. Valeriu Antohi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sten Melberg went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torsten Rosendahl was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gunnarskog IFK's zone, Sten Melberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valeriu Antohi came out of the goal and Sten Melberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valeriu Antohi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Melberg in the 57th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Gunnarskog IFK defense, Sten Melberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeriu Antohi. The Gunnarskog IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeriu Antohi should have stopped the shot. Robert Boström took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised George Kristiansson. George Kristiansson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Gunnarskog IFK's Jan-Olof Albom got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 76th minute, Sten Melberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valeriu Antohi was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Gunnarskog IFK's Isac Bruhn was substituted for Sebastian Josefsson. 82 minutes into the match, Gunnarskog IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Arne Olsson came free, but Valeriu Antohi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valeriu Antohi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sten Melberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Sten Melberg scored 5-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valeriu Antohi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mattias Kjellberg during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Robert Boström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of George Kristiansson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sten Melberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Di Röe could leave the field as winners, despite Gunnarskog IFK having more of the ball for most of the match.
