Michal Jarosz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zenon Smolarek's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wajsznory's goalkeeper Michal Jarosz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Michal Jarosz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiktor Wrzosek in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Zachariasz Gieraltowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wiktor Wrzosek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Majeczka's Piotr Banan got control of the ball when Tomasz Jaruzelski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zachariasz Gieraltowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michal Jarosz having to interfere. If Wiktor Wrzosek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Zachariasz Gieraltowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michal Jarosz was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Zenon Smolarek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juliusz Ruzicki scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michal Jarosz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Majeczka's supporters rose to their feet, but Aleksander Ochylski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michal Jarosz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Gwidon Hetman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karol Beninda to make the kick off. The supporters of Majeczka booed when Wajsznory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Witomir Czajkowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marek Kosowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zachariasz Gieraltowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Michal Jarosz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Wajsznory getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Wiktor Wrzosek came free with the goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Michal Jarosz could save by the left post. Michal Jarosz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachariasz Gieraltowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Zenon Smolarek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Zenon Smolarek got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 98th match minute, Wajsznory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Witomir Czajkowski to maneuver through the defense.
